About Us
Formally known as Hunslet Cars Ltd and after the acquisition of 3 smaller local private hire companies’ (City South, Swift and Middleton Direct) we changed the name to South Leeds & Hunslet Cars Ltd to reflect the growth of the company and the area we cover. With over 120 vehicles/drivers we are now the largest private hire company in South Leeds. We have been serving the South Leeds community for over 25 years and in that time have grown from strength to strength. On the office side we have more staff than ever with all the latest telephone and computer system in place to answer our customer’s needs more quickly and courteously. With the very latest data dispatch system in place we try to keep up to date with the latest technology. All our vehicles are GPS linked which helps to track where our vehicles are and enables us to give a more precise time of arrival to the customer.
Vehicles on offer to customers now include anything from a 4 seater car to a luxury 16 seater minibus we also have available wheelchair accessible vehicles. Vehicle’s now need to meet a certain criteria and can no longer be those old rattlers that were about when Hunslet Cars was first established. All company owned vehicles are replaced at no longer than 5 years of age
Drivers are all CRB checked and have to do a competence driving test as well as a verbal test on the English language before been licensed by Leeds City Council, the majority of drivers are local drivers and have been with the company for some time, so with this in mind we hope you can be assured of a safe, pleasant, reliable and courteous service.
Here at South Leeds we never close we are available to you 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year, with no call out charge or premium rate charge after midnight you will only be charged from your pickup point to your destination point no matter what time of day or night.

Both Directors of the company were born in the local area and have lived here for (43 years), We joined the private hire industry 20 years ago as drivers and both worked for Hunslet Cars for all these years, We try to pass on this vast experience to all our staff to ensure that customers are treated fairly and with respect at all times.
We deal personally with any complaint received until resolved. We aim to ensure that every trip with us is a SAFE & PLEASANT experience for all Customers.
